Deripaska undertakes not to seek reelection to Rusal Board - En+

The Board of Directors also confirmed the undertaking of Deripaska not to put forward his candidacy for reelection to the Board of the aluminum holding Rusal

MOSCOW, May 18. /TASS/. The Board of Directors of the energy holding En+ Group formally accepted resignation of Oleg Deripaska from the Board with the immediate effect, the company said on Friday.

The Board of Directors also confirmed the undertaking of Deripaska not to put forward his candidacy for reelection to the Board of the aluminum holding Rusal.

"Following the Board meeting, the Chairman formally accepted both Mr. Oleg Deripaska's resignation as a director of the Company, with immediate effect and his undertaking not to seek reelection as a director of Rusal, at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting," En+ said.

Following introduction of US sanctions against En+ and Rusal, the Russian businessman consented to the proposal made by En+ Board Chairman Lord Barker concerning Deripaska’s withdrawal from the board and appointment of new independent persons to the Board.

Philippe Mailfait, who is currently an independent director in the En+ Group will be nominated to replace Deripaska on the Board of Directors of Rusal, En+ said.
