Russia wants to supply grain, pork, fish to Ecuador, says agriculture watchdog

During the talks, the sides noted the necessity to put the trade turnover of the two countries in equilibrium

MOSCOW, May 15. /TASS/. Russia has unveiled intension to expand the list of export items for Ecuador, particularly, grain, pork and fish, the veterinary and phytosanitary watchdog said in a statement following the meeting of the Russian-Ecuadoran intergovernmental commission on Monday.

"The Russian side has unveiled interest in expanding the list of products supplied to Ecuador, particularly, potential exports of grain and derived products, as well as stock-raising products - pork, fish and fish products," the statement said.

During the talks, the sides noted the necessity to put the trade turnover of the two countries in equilibrium, for which they decided to speed up endorsement of cooperation memorandums in the veterinary and plant quarantine areas.

They also discussed possible cooperation options and agreed to continue efforts to fortify bilateral collaboration in the agriculture field, including diversification of the Russian-Ecuadoran trade of agriculture products.
