Russia's Rostec does not expect worsening in position of companies hit by new US sanctions

Rostec businesses are under US and European restrictions for more than a year and successfully adapt to new conditions, the company's representative said

MOSCOW, May 10. /TASS/. The Russian state corporation Rostec does not expect worsening in the position of the Russian defense export agency Rosoboronexport and the KBP [Shipunov Instrument Design Bureau - TASS] in view of new US sanctions introduced under the nonproliferation law, a Rostec representative told TASS on Thursday.

"Certainly, sanctions complicate work. However, Rostec businesses, including KBP, are under US and European restrictions for more than a year and successfully adapt to new conditions, as evidenced by dynamics of revenues and export supplies. We do not expect worsening in the standing of our companies in view of new sanctions," the source said.

The US administration has repeatedly imposed sanctions on Rosoboronexport and introduced sanctions against KBP, alleging that they violated of the US national non-proliferation legislation with respect to Iran, North Korea and Syria. The relevant statement is part of a set of official documents of the US government, the so-called Federal Register.

The US authorities did not specify their claims. The sanctions ban any US agencies and departments from buying products and services of blacklisted companies, as well as from selling weapons and military equipment to them, issuing US licenses for the acquisition of goods subject to the export control regime, and providing assistance to them.
