Exemption of German firms from ban on Russian aluminum to benefit both states — minister

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that German authorities intend to request an exemption from application of anti-Russian sanctions

WASHINGTON, April 20. /TASS/. An exemption from sanctions for German companies related to purchases of Russian aluminum will benefit the German business and Russia, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Friday.

"Germans have applied; there is an opportunity for an exception in sanction decisions. If such decisions are approved, this will be a mutually beneficial solution for German buyers of aluminum and for our enterprises," the minister said.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that German authorities intend to request US President Donald Trump to grant an exemption from application of anti-Russian sanctions for the German business.
