Russia's telecom watchdog’s website works as usual after three DDoS attacks

On April 17, the watchdog’s site was inaccessible for about eight hours

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. The website of Russia’s telecommunications watchdog came under DDoS attacks three times over the past one and a half days. Currently, the website operates as usual, but it is too early to say it is stable, the agency’s press-service has told TASS.

"Efforts by Roskomnadzor and Rostelecom specialists have restored the website to normal operation by now. At the same time it will be possible to say unambiguously if the site is stable only after attempts to upset its operation by DDoS attacks have been brought to an end. Over the past one and a half days Roskomnadzor experienced three powerful DDoS attacks," the statement runs.

On Tuesday, April 17, the watchdog’s site was inaccessible for about eight hours. Its content became available to users again after 23:00 Moscow time. The first disruptions in its operation occurred at 11:05 on Tuesday.
