MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Russia’s Deputy Defense Minister Aleksandr Fomin and French ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert discussed the resumption of contacts between the Russian and French agencies on Wednesday.

"The parties exchanged opinion of the condition and prospects of resuming cooperation between the defense ministries of their countries. They discussed the most topical issues of regional and international security, including the situation in Syria and Libya, as well as relations between Russia and NATO," the Defense Ministry said in a statement obtained by TASS.

The meeting was constructive, the Defense Ministry said.

"It was agreed to have further contacts," the report runs.
