MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Government certification tests of the upgraded combat helicopter Mi-28NM are scheduled to begin later this year, the head of the Helicopters of Russia holding company, Andrey Boginsky, said on Tuesday. "We will do our utmost to have preliminary conclusions by the end of this year and to discuss the first test batch of helicopters set aside for testing with our counterparts."

Government certification tests imply many flights, he added.

The Mi-28NM is an upgraded configuration of the Mi-28M Night Hunter helicopter, which began to be developed back in 2009. The Mi-28NM will have a fundamentally new 360-degree coverage radar, a new control system and other equipment allowing for the use of smart weapons.
