KUBINKA /Moscow region/, September 11. /TASS/. More than 500,000 people visited the six-day international military technical forum Army-2016 which has ended in the Patriot park near Moscow, the forum’s press center said on Sunday.
"The number of the forum’s visitors exceeded 500,000, which is much more than at many similar world forums in this sphere and confirms the venue’s international status," the press center said.
The Army-2016 forum was held at the Patriot park’s exhibition center at the Alabino firing range and the Kubinka airfield outside Moscow. For the first time this year, the forum’s venues also included testing grounds located in the Western, Southern, Central and Eastern military districts and at the Northern Fleet. Along with strategic expositions and dynamic demonstration of combat vehicles, the forum features a research and business program and various cultural and entertainment events of the military patriotic nature.
"The results of the forum convincingly demonstrate that in a space of just two years it has grown into a world-level exhibition of weapons and military hardware and an authoritative venue for discussing advanced ideas and developments in the interests of the armed forces," the press center said.
The forum brough together representatives from more than 80 countries, of whom 35 represented official delegations. Thirteen delegations were led by defense ministers, twenty-two more delegations were led by chief of general staffs and deputy defense ministers. The overall number of members of military delegations exceeded 260 people.
