Participants in Army-2016 forum to discuss countering threats to Russian national security

The key event will be the roundtable "Russia in the changing world: challenges, dangers, threats" organized by the Military Academy of the Russian Armed Forces’ General Staff

MOSCOW, September 7. /TASS/. Participants in the Army-2016 forum and leading Russian experts will hold 26 roundtables today devoted to different aspects of ensuring Russia’s national security, the Defense Ministry’s press service said on Wednesday.

"The key event in the scientific and business program of this day will be the roundtable ‘Russia in the changing world: challenges, dangers, threats’ organized by the Military Academy of the Russian Armed Forces’ General Staff. Participants in the session will discuss military-political situation in the country and factors of its destabilization. They will also provide an expert assessment of possible ways and means to prevent and counter modern challenges and threats to Russia’s national security," the press service said.

Other roundtables will consider prospects of developing military medical equipment, new instruments for fulfilling tasks of the Aerospace Defense Forces, issues of improving rocket and artillery weapons and modernizing special equipment of railway forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the second day of the forum will see the massive air show at the Kubinka aerodrome presented by aces from aerobatic teams "Russian Knights", "Swifts", "Russian Falcons" and "Berkuts". Modern equipment will also be demonstrated at the Alabino training range, including robotized systems of Uran, Nerekhta and Soratnik families.

The Army-2016 forum is held on September 6-11 in the Moscow Region’s Patriot theme park.
