Putin thanks Russian arms producers for efficient work in new realities

The Russian president says the country is investing in the development of advanced defense technologies

MOSCOW, July 8. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked domestic arms producers for their efficient work in new realities amid tight competition on world arms markets.

"I would like to thank Russian arms exporters, which are successfully working in new realities amid tight competition and adequately responding to their opponents' actions that are sometimes dishonest," Putin said.

Russia is investing in the development of advanced defense technologies and expanding the range of supplied products, "from small arms to the most advanced means of conducting air and naval battles that can change the alignment of forces in any theater of operation," Putin said.

The Russian president urged the domestic defense sector "to pay close attention to demonstrating the achievements of Russian arms manufacturers."

"The Russian weapons are becoming increasingly efficient and at the same time remain quite simple in operation and maintenance. This can be proved not only at exhibitions. Potential customers can learn about the characteristics of the Russian weaponry both in the course of its practical use at practice ranges, aerodromes and at sea," the Russian president said.

"It is necessary to continue paying close attention to demonstrating the achievements of Russian arms manufacturers and promoting domestically-made military hardware and developing more convenient forms of work with buyers," Putin said.

It is an important mechanism within the system of military and technical cooperation to provide maintenance for the products supplied, organize a modern system of interaction with foreign customers on this issue and supply spare parts on time, the Russian president said.
