MOSCOW, June 21. /TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu will pay a working visit to St. Petersburg. During his trip he will visit military higher educational institutions, check the construction preparedness of the command operations center of the Joint Strategic Command of Russia’s Western Military District and the progress in fulfilling the State Defense Order at the military-industrial complex enterprises, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.
"The minister’s working visit will begin with a visit to the Mikhailov Military Artillery Academy. Sergei Shoigu will present the Order of Zhukov to the renowned military higher educational establishment. The academy was awarded it by presidential decree for achievements in ensuring the
country’s security, strengthening its defense capability and training highly-qualified military personnel," the ministry’s report said.
Shoigu is also due to visit the Kirov Military Medical Academy and inspect the construction of the academy’s multidisciplinary clinic. The minister will also check the readiness of the regional command operations center of the Western Military District Joint Strategic Command and hear a report of the district commander.
Shoigu will also visit the Radar MMS Scientific and Production Association where he will check the progress in fulfilling the State Defense Order.
