SOCHI, May 18. /TASS/. Russia plans to receive $14 billion from export of military hardware in 2016, the chief of the federal service for military-technical cooperation, Alexander Fomin has said.
"In 2016, Russia plans to get $14 billion from the export of military hardware, while the overall portfolio of sales abroad exceeds $50 billion," he said.
In his words, the country's plan of military hardware export significantly exceeds the figure of $14 billion. Fomin added that Russia's order portfolio for this year amounts to $52-56 billion.
Russia supplied arms to 58 countries in 2015
According to Fomin, Russia in 2015 supplied arms to 58 countries and maintained contact with 101 states. At the same time, Asian countries accounted for half of the Russian military equipment exports as of the end of 2015.
"The ASEAN countries on the results of 2015 and recent years account actually for half of Russia’s total arms exports," Fomin told reporters.
"According to the results of 2015, we maintained contact with 101 states and supplied weapons to 58 countries", the official said.
