Marines from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky take part in Victory Parade in Khabarovsk

KHABAROVSK, May 9. /TASS/. A Victory Parade took place in the Russian Far Eastern city of Khabarovsk, with marines from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky being among its nearly 1,700 participants, a TASS correspondent reported.

Over 90 items of military hardware participated, he said.

"Heroic deeds of Far Eastern soldiers will forever remember in the memory of generations," said Eastern Military District troops commander Col. Gen. Sergey Surovikin, who added that the memory of World War II is unshakable.

More than 1,000 viewers were watching the event from grandstands, including over 300 veterans of the Second World War.
