US and Kazakhstan developing program of military cooperation

The main directions will be peacekeeping activities, helping in training armed forces, as well as military education

ASTANA, February 3. /TASS/. Kazakhstan and the United States have designed the project of bilateral military cooperation for 2016-2017, Kazakhstan’s Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

"Among main directions in which Kazakhstani-US relations in the military sphere will develop in the next two years will be peacekeeping activities, helping in training armed forces, as well as military education," the defense ministry said adding that the document became the result of the three-day meeting of the working group of coordinating officers from the armed forces of the two countries.

In particular, "it is planned to improve education methods in Kazakhstan’s institutions, to contribute to development of sergeant corps." "Work will also continue in learning languages," the ministry noted.
