MOSCOW, January 23. /TASS/. Russia’s Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has chaired a meeting on import substitution in the defence industry and aircraft engine building held in St Petersburg.
"The meeting focused on prospects for national sovereignty in the manufacturing of current and perspective aircraft along with issues related to an unhindered operation of state-run aviation in the Russian Federation," the Security Council’s press service said.
During the trip to Russia’s second-largest city, Patrushev visited the Klimov enterprise incorporated into the United Engine Corporation and also the Almaz ship building company, where he was shown blueprints of passenger air cushion vehicles, which would be manufactured for tours around the Russian lake region of Karelia as well.
Also, the Security Council’s secretary discussed pressing issues of regional security with Russian Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative at the North-Western Federal District Vladimir Bulavin.
