ST.PETERSBURG, January 21. /TASS/. Russia’s Fleet will take part in a range of international naval exercises this year jointly with China, Egypt, India and other countries, the deputy commander-in-chief of Russian Navy said on Thursday.
"To continue work on strengthening ties with the naval forces of foreign countries in 2016 a number of joint drills have been planned: with the Navies of China, Egypt and India," Alexander Fedotenkov said.
Joint drills will also be held for the first time between Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, he added.
The deputy commander also noted that the Russian Navy’s coastal troops will hold drills in the Arctic this year with live-firing from coastal missile systems.
"The Navy’s coastal troops will hold brigade-level tactical exercises in 2016 involving an Arctic motor rifle brigade and a research tactical exercise with a live fire from coastal missile systems in the Arctic zone," the Navy deputy commander said.
