Russian paratroopers to hold drills with interior forces, security service — commander

The drills involving front-line aircraft are planned in south Russia and are aimed at training to fight against drug trafficking and to combat terrorists

KAMYSHIN (Volgograd region), January 20. /TASS/. Russia’s Airborne Troops plan to hold exercises with the interior forces and the special task force of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) this year, commander of the Airborne Troops Col. Gen. Vladimir Shamanov said on Wednesday.

"There are plans to conduct a range of exercises with the units of Russia’s interior forces on the territories of the Southern and Caucasian federal districts involving front-line aircraft and other law enforcement agencies, in particular, and also units of special task force of drug control agency and Russia’s FSB," Shamanov told reporters.

The exercises will be aimed at training to fight against drug trafficking and to combat terrorists.
