MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. The Russian Strategic Missile Forces are not planning to deploy their units in the Arctic region, commander Sergey Karakayev said on Wednesday.
"We have no such plans," Colonel General Karakayev told reporters. "Last year you asked a similar question about our plans to deploy new units on Russia’s southern borders, mainly, in Crimea. I told you then that it was not necessary. I can say the same about the Arctic."
He said that modern ballistic missiles can hit targets in any part of the world.
"Missile systems are deeply hidden in Russia (from central Tver to Siberian Irkutsk regions) from the enemy’s attack systems," Karakayev added.
