MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. Russian Northern Fleet’s combat and logistics ships in 2016 will make several voyages to the Arctic and the Mediterranean, the fleet’s spokesman, Captain 1st class Vadim Serga told the media on Tuesday.

"The Northern Fleet will continue to explore the Arctic Coast. Arctic mechanized infantry units will be mastering skills in unfamiliar terrain. Some ships will make voyages to the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean," Serga said.
The crews of anti-submarine and amphibious ships have already started preparations for long voyages.
In the just-ended training year the Northern Fleet’s ships made more than 20 long voyages.
Earlier, Serga said that the Northern Fleet’s prioritiesin the new training year would be exercises in the Arctic, improvement of infrastructures in the region and measures to maintain the combat readiness of the naval nuclear deterrence force.
