MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will on Monday spend a working day in the southern resort of Sochi, where he will hold a series of conferences on the defense and industry sector during this week, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
"From Monday the president will resume the practice of regular meetings with representatives of the defense department and chief designers of defense industry enterprises," Peskov told journalists.
He added that Putin will hold a number of working meetings this week, as well as international contacts. Earlier, the Kremlin press service said Putin is to meet with the emir of Kuwait on Tuesday.
Putin is holding a series of such conferences for the sixth time: he gathers the Defense Ministry, defense industry sector leadership and other responsible officials in May and in November. Meetings are held daily and then the results are summed up at a common conference.
The previous series of conferences took place in May 2015 in Sochi. They were devoted to fulfillment of the state defense order, equipment of the Aerospace Forces and Strategic Nuclear Forces, development of the Ground Forces, rearmament of the army and navy, personnel training and so on.
