MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Russia’s Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office is conducting an inspection in connection with the death of Russian soldier Vadim Kostenko at the Russian military base in Syria, the prosecutor office’s press service told TASS.
Thepriliminary results of the inspection confirm that suicide was the cause of death.
The cause of his death was also confirmed by a medico-legal investigation of Kostenko’s body. "The check-out work is in progress. In the course of this work, all circumstances of the serviceman’s death will be investigated and the legal decision will be taken," it added.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed on Tuesday that a Russian military serviceman had committed suicide at the Hmeimim air base in Syria.
"The man serving under contract at the Hmeimim air base in Syria as a technical specialist took his own life while off duty"
