MOSCOW, September 14. /TASS/. Advanced Russian-made tanks will surpass foreign hardware considerably by their characteristics and shock power in the near future, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army Colonel-General Oleg Salyukov said on Monday.

"Measures the state is taking in the sphere of tank-building, show that Russian tanks will surpass foreign analogs considerably by their tactical characteristics already in the near future," he said.

Sophisticated tank formations possessing formidable firepower, strong armor protection and high maneuverability remain the main shock power of the Army, Salyukov added.
