MOSCOW, September 8. /TASS/. Mechanized infantry units in Yekaterinburg have been moved to the Chebarkul proving ground in the Chelyabinsk Region for a surprise combat readiness check, which also involves aviation, airborne and military-transport aviation forces, the Defense Ministry has told TASS.
"Armor, mechanized infantry, artillery, engineering and reconnaissance units have moved to the designated areas and are preparing armaments and equipment for live firing practice," the agency’s source said.
The surprise readiness check of the Central Military District and is being held on orders from the commander-in-chief, President Vladimir Putin from September 7 to 12.
