General staff chiefs of CIS armies discuss ways of counteracting drones — Russian general

The meeting participants also discussed developing joint (unified) military systems

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. General staff chiefs of the armed forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) have met to discuss best practices in counteracting drones as well as experience gained in demining during Russia’s special military operation, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and First Deputy Defense Minister Valery Gerasimov said.

Summing up a meeting of the committee of the general staff chiefs of the armed forces of CIS member states in Moscow, Gerasimov said that the delegates had been shown the latest weapons developed by Russian defense companies. "They were also updated about modern ways of counteracting unmanned aerial vehicles and how demining was carried out during the course of the special military operation," the senior Russian general added.

The meeting participants also discussed developing joint (unified) military systems. "Special attention was paid to the prospects of improving the joint communication system and the joint air defense system, as well as to the preparation of national humanitarian demining units to perform their intended tasks," he said.
