US seeks to challenge facts of military biological research — Russian Defense Ministry

According to Igor Kirillov, "the US’ rationale is that since previous cases could not be proven, then all accusations concerning its current military biological activities are disinformation"

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. The US Department of State is trying to cast doubt on the documented facts related to the country’s illegal military and biological research, Chief of Russia’s Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov said on Friday.

"The US Department of State has prepared a series of publications in which it tries to throw doubt on the documented facts related to its illegal biological research. In particular, a bulletin was published on the US Department of State’s website on March 14, 2023, which once again accused Russia of spreading disinformation," he pointed out at a briefing on the analysis of documents pertaining to Washington's military biological activities.

According to Kirillov, "the US’ rationale is that since previous cases could not be proven, then all accusations concerning its current military biological activities are disinformation."

The Russian general noted that "in a bid to shield the US Democratic Party, pro-government US media outlets, including the Washington Post, spread the Department of State’s statements flatly denying the well-established historical facts of preparations for conducting military biological attacks in North Korea and China in the early 1950s, while the Russian Defense Ministry’s information is being ignored."
