Belarus, Russia drafting plan to develop joint combat group’s military infrastructure

The legislators also discussed the draft program "Developing the Union State’s Border Security in 2023-2027"

MINSK, October 26. /TASS/. Belarus and Russia are working out a new allied program of improving military facilities that can be used for the regional joint group of forces, the Council of the Republic (the upper house) of the Belarusian National Assembly said in a statement on Wednesday.

The statement was issued following a meeting of the security and defense commission of the Russia-Belarus Union State’s Parliamentary Assembly.

"The meeting discussed the pace of developing the Union State’s programs ‘Improving Military Infrastructure Sites Planned for Joint Use to Provide for the Operation of the Regional Group of Troops (Forces) of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in 2023-2026’ and ‘Modernizing Logistic Support Sites Planned for Joint Use to Provide for the Operation of the Regional Group of Forces in 2023-2026,’" the upper house of the Belarusian parliament said.

The legislators also discussed the draft program "Developing the Union State’s Border Security in 2023-2027."

As the Belarusian parliament informed, the commission’s meeting also discussed the results of elaborating and approving the Concept of the Union State’s Information Security and the issue of "the legislative regulation of measures to counter foreign meddling through non-governmental organizations financed from abroad."
