Russia to feature advanced weaponry at IDEF-2019 arms show in Istanbul

Foreign customers will be able to view at the Russian display stand more than 300 items of the military hardware that is especially in demand in the region

MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport (part of the state h-tech corporation Rostec) will demonstrate at the IDEF-2019 defense exhibition in Istanbul its promising military hardware that is in high demand on the arms market, the company’s press office reported on Monday.

"This event provides an excellent opportunity to study trends and areas of the world arms market’s development and for foreign customers to get acquainted with the best examples of the Russian weaponry famous for its top-notch combat qualities," the press office quoted Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheyev as saying.

Rosoboronexport traditionally acts as the organizer of Russia’s unified exposition where more than 10 Russian defense enterprises will showcase more than 450 items of armament and military hardware. Specifically, the arms show will feature the output of the Almaz-Antey Group, Shvabe Holding Company and the Techmash Research and Production Company.

The exhibits will include Kalashnikov AK-200 series assault rifles, the 32V01 30mm remote controlled combat module, the Viking air defense missile system and the AK-176MA 76.2mm automatic artillery gun.

"As mock-ups, the company will showcase the BT-3F armored personnel carrier, the Kamaz-53949 ‘Taifun-K’ armored vehicle, the Su-35 multirole super-maneuverable fighter jet and the Project 12061E ‘Murena-E’ air-cushion landing boat," the Rosoboronexport press office said.

Also, numerous meetings and negotiations with representatives of the Turkish armed forces and other security agencies, and with representatives of other countries in the region have been scheduled. Rosoboronexport expects to discuss the fulfillment of current contracts and promising projects in the sphere of military and technical cooperation.

The IDEF-2019 defense industry exhibition will run in Istanbul on April 30 - May 3, 2019. The exhibition will showcase equipment for the land troops, the Navy, the Air Force, security technologies, space technologies, onboard systems, and also helicopters, ships, electronics, security systems, transportation and logistics equipment and systems.
