Over 2,000 servicemen take part in snap checks in Russia's south

Around 300 units of military equipment are used in the drills

ROSTOV-ON-DON, April 23. /TASS/. Two regiments of the 42nd motorized rifle division stationed in Chechnya took part in snap checks, the press service of the Southern Military District said on Tuesday.

"Over 2,000 servicemen marched to the assigned area surrounded by 'enemy' reconnaissance groups. They had to pass through areas contamindated with radiation," the press service said.

Around 300 units of military equipment are used in the drills, including Mi-8AMTSh "Terminator" helicopters, T-72B3 tanks, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, Su-25SM fighter jets, Akatsiya self-propelled artillery systems, and Pantsir-1 missile systems.
