Around 2,000 servicemen practice engaging in encounter battles at drills in Russia's south

Around 250 units of military weapons and equipment are used in the drills

ROSTOV-ON-DON, April 9. /TASS/. Motorized infantry divisions stationed in Russia's southern Rostov Region have practiced engaging in encounter battles at the Kadamovsky training range near Novocherkassk, the press service of the Southern Military District told reporters on Tuesday.

"During bilateral battalion tactical drills, around 2,000 servicemen practiced completing tasks on maneuver defense and offensive launch, demonstrating their mobility when engaging in various tactical actions in the conditions of general combat," the press service said.

Around 250 units of military weapons and equipment are used in the drills, including T-72B3 tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles. BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Tigr armored vehicles, Tornado-G multiple rocket launcher systems and Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers.
