Kalashnikovs coming to Saudi Arabia: Russia to supply AK-103 assault rifles to Riyadh soon

The contract is in already in effect, "all items are ready", Head of Russia’s Rostec State Corporation Sergei Chemezov said

ABU DHABI, February 18. /TASS/. Saudi Arabia will soon receive a shipment of AK-103 assault rifles, Head of Russia’s Rostec State Corporation Sergei Chemezov said at the IDEX-2019 International Defense Exhibition.

"The contract is in already in effect. The supplies are about to begin, all items are ready and we will ship them off soon," he said.

According to Chemezov, a second contract for the licensed production of the AF-103 rifles will soon be signed with Saudi Arabia. "In the near future, we will start to build a plant. The localization level is currently being negotiated," he noted.

Rosoboronexport (part of Rostec) Director General Alexander Mikheyev said earlier that a joint project for manufacturing the AK-103 rifles in Saudi Arabia would be agreed on by mid-2019.
