Russian Defense Ministry signs cooperation agreements with nine countries in 2018

The ministry recalled that a total of 27 such agreements have been signed over the past three years

The Russian Defense Ministry signed bilateral agreements on military cooperation with nine countries in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region in 2018, Russian Deputy Defense Minister, Colonel General Alexander Fomin, said at a meeting with defense attaches on Friday, summing up the results of the ministry’s international activities this year.

"In 2018, the Russian Defense Ministry signed bilateral agreements on military cooperation with nine countries in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, while 27 such agreements have been signed over the past three years," he said.

Thus, an international legal framework, which opens up new opportunities for cooperation between the Russian Defense Ministry and its new partners, has been created.
