Over 100 defense chiefs invited to 2019 Moscow security conference

Invitations to the next conference, scheduled for 2019, have been sent to defense chiefs in 101 countries and heads of eight international organizations

MOSCOW, December 14. /TASS/. The Russian Defense Ministry has sent invitations to the Moscow Conference on International Security to defense chiefs in 101 countries and heads of eight international organizations, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel General Alexander Fomin said on Friday.

"The next, eighth conference will be held next year. Invitations have been sent to defense chiefs in 101 countries and heads of eight international organizations," he said at a meeting with defense attaches, summing up the results of the ministry’s performance in 2018.

According to Fomin, the Russian Defense Ministry plans to increase both dialogue platforms and the range of discussed issues at the upcoming conference.

He added that round tables, where security experts would be able to express their opinion on modern threats and challenges, would be added to traditional formats of plenary meetings and discussion sections.
