MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. Representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry will hold an inspection of training ranges on the territory of Latvia on November 20-23 in accordance with Vienna Document 2011, head of the Russian naitonal center on decreasing nuclear threats Sergey Ryzhkov told reporters on Monday.

"The inspection is carried out with the goal of determining the scale of military activity in the region and confirming the absence of military activity that is subject to advance notice," Ryzhkov said adding that the inspection will cover the area of around 14,000 square kilometers.

"Russian inspectors will visit training centers and ranges, receive briefings on military activities in the region, information about formations and military units stationed in the region," he noted.

Vienna Document is an agreement between the member countries of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to implement confidence and security building measures. The document was adopted on 30 November 2011 at the plenary session of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation.
