This year’s biggest military drills, Anakonda-2018, to begin in Poland

WARSAW, November 7. /TASS/. The Polish armed forces will on Wednesday launch the active phase of this year’s biggest military exercise, Anakonda-2018, involving personnel from ten NATO countries.

The aim of the maneuvers is to test and train the Polish military command’s interaction with their NATO allies.

The active phase of the drills will continue until November 16. A command-and-staff phase will follow on November 26. The exercises will formally end on December 6.

According to the Polish defense ministry, about 12,500 servicemen will practice at training grounds in Poland during the active phase, while 5,000 soldiers will be involved in separate training sessions in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The schedule also include naval maneuvers in the Baltic Sea.
