Russia, Belarus have enough military capacity to thwart any aggression, says ambassador

Mikhail Babich said that "today, there are enough resources to accomplish any task using combined troops"

GANTSEVICHI /Belarus/, November 6. /TASS/. The armed forces of Russia and Belarus have enough military capacity to thwart any aggression, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Mikhail Babich told reporters on Tuesday.

"The Belarusian president is absolutely right - today, the Russian and Belarusian armed forces have enough military capacities to thwart any aggression no matter who it comes from," he said. "There is no need to take any actions under the current situation. "However, if the parity is disturbed, then - as the Belarusian President has rightly said - the supreme commanders-in-chief will find an effective way to adequately respond to developments," the Russian ambassador added.

Babich pointed out that "today, there are enough resources to accomplish any task using combined troops." "But if the situation changes, then our presidents will find a solution," he said, commenting on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s earlier statement, in which he said that Minsk did not want a Russian military base to be set up in the country.
