Vintage World War II tank T-34 capsized after parade in Kursk

Nobody was hurt

KURSK, August 23. /TASS/. A vintage World War II tank, which participated in a parade in Kursk, capsized while being loaded on a trailer, the press-service of the Western military district told the media.

"At about 12:10 on August 23 a T-34 tank rolled off the platform and capsized while being loaded on a trailer. The driver was not hurt," says a statement obtained by TASS.

"The repair team promptly put the tank on the trailer. The vehicle was delivered to its permanent location," the press-service said.

According to earlier reports the T-34-85 tank brought from the Leningrad Region led a military parade in Kursk on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk. Participating in the parade were 75 pieces of military equipment including T-72B3 tanks, armored personnel carriers BMP-2 and multiple rocket launchers Tornado-G. A group of planes and helicopters, including MiG-29SMT, MiG-31 and Mi-24 flew over the crowd to round up the show.

A total of 17,000 spectators gathered for the celebration, the press-service of the Western Military District said.
