Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg ends with fly-past

The first seen over the Gulf of Finland were three Ka-23 helicopters, followed by three Ka-29 helicopters, two Mi-8 and a unique Kamov Ka-31R electronic intelligence helicopter

ST. PETERSBURG, July 29. /TASS/. About 40 warplanes and helicopters have taken part in the air component of Russia’s Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg.

The first seen over the Gulf of Finland were three Ka-23 helicopters, followed by three Ka-29 helicopters, two Mi-8 and a unique Kamov Ka-31R electronic intelligence (ELINT) helicopter.

Next was a group of Il-38 and Tu-142 anti-submarine warfare planes, shipborne aircraft Su-33 and MiG-29K, Su-30SM fighter aircraft and Su-24M/MP bombers and reconnaissance aircraft.

Winding up the air component of the parade were six Sukhoi Su-25 Grach attack aircraft, drawing in the sky Russia’s tricolor flag with colored smoke trails behind them.

The Main Naval Parade timed to coincide with Russia’s Navy Day has taken place in St. Petersburg and Kronshtadt, involving about 40 warship and around 40 aircraft and helicopters.
