MOSCOW, July 22. /TASS/. Air defenses at the Russian Hmeimim air base in Syria destroyed two unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in the past two days, the base’s spokesman told reporters.
"As darkness fell on Saturday July 21, Russian air defenses at the Hmeimim air base detected a small aerial target - an unidentified UAV - at a considerable distance from the base, which was flying towards it. Hmeimim’s air defenses destroyed the target," the spokesman said.
According to him, on Sunday morning, "another unidentified UAV coming from southwest was destroyed at some distance from the base."
The spokesman pointed out that the Hmeimim base continued to operate normally. "The two incidents caused neither casualties nor damage," he said.
