Russia records seven ceasefire violations in Syria in 24 hours

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the situation in de-escalation zones remains stable

MOSCOW, July 22. /TASS/. Russian monitors recorded seven ceasefire violations in Syria in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said in an information bulletin on Wednesday.

"Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission on ceasefire violations recorded seven firing incidents in the past 24 hours - four in the Latakia province and three in the Aleppo province. At the same time, Turkish observers did not record any ceasefire violations," the bulletin reads.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the situation in de-escalation zones remains stable. Over the past 24 hours, eight Syrian civilians received medical assistance.

Syrian de-escalation zones

In accordance with a decision made by Russia, Iran and Turkey - the guarantors of the Syrian ceasefire - de-escalation zones were set up in Syria in 2017. They include the Idlib Province, some parts of its neighboring areas in the Latakia, Hama and Aleppo provinces, Eastern Ghouta, as well as some areas in the Daraa and al-Quneitra Provinces in southern Syria.
