EIN TARMA /Eastern Ghouta, Syria/, May 15. /TASS/. Officers from the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Sides have carried out a humanitarian mission in the town of Ein Tarma in Syria’s Eastern Ghouta, distributing ten tonnes of food among locals, the Center’s spokesman Zakhid Kasumov told reporters.
"Together with the Akhmad Kadyrov Foundation, we carried out a humanitarian mission in Ein Tarma, distributing ten tonnes of food," Kasumov said, adding that rations included cereals, canned goods, tea and sugar.
Russian military doctors provided medical assistance to the town’s residents.
"More than 60 people requested our help, half of them children. Adults mostly suffer from heart and bone diseases, as well as from diabetes. As for children, we have seen viral infections and gastrointestinal disorders," Deputy Head of the Center’s Healthcare Department Alexei Konarev said.
In April, Syria’s Eastern Ghouta and Eastern Qalamoun were liberated from militants with the assistance of the Center for Reconciliation.

The Russian Center for Reconciliation continues monitor the Syria ceasefire, provide humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, coordinate activities aimed at rebuilding infrastructure facilities in the war-torn areas and reintegrating former militants into peaceful life, as well as to assist refugees returning to their homes.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, in 2017, the Center carried out more than 1,700 humanitarian missions, delivering thousands of tonnes of food to Syrian civilians. At the same time, Russian military doctors provided medical assistance to at least 70,000 Syrians.
