Militants pull out from Syria’s Eastern Qalamoun - reconciliation center

For the purpose, a provisional humanitarian corridor was opened today, with the checkpoint in the populated locality of Ruheiba

MOSCOW, April 21. /TASS/. The Russian center for reconciliation of conflicting sides in Syria has begun evacuation of militants and their families from Eastern Qalamoun, Major General Yuri Yevtushenko, the center’s chief, told reporters on Saturday.

"Under earlier approved agreements, the Russian center for reconciliation of conflicting sides and Russian military police units, though taking security measures, have started to pull out fighters of illegal armed groups and members of their families from the reconciliation area of Eastern Qalamoun," he said.

"For the purpose, a provisional humanitarian corridor was opened today, with the checkpoint in the populated locality of Ruheiba," he said.

Russian reconciliation center

The Russian reconciliation center continues to fulfill assigned tasks after the completion of the military campaign in Syria. The center’s officers regularly travel around the country's liberated areas to assess the humanitarian situation. The main efforts of the Russian military are now focused on assistance to the refugees returning to their homes and evacuation of civilians from de-escalation zones.
