ST. PETERSBURG, November 18. /TASS/. The screening rights for Attraction 2, a Russian film coming out in December 2019, have already been sold to South Korea, Germany and Italy, the film's director and producer Fyodor Bondarchuk said on Saturday during the seventh St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
"The pre-sales for the sequel to Attraction are two times higher than for the first part," Bondarchuk said. "And so far, we’ve closed only three territories: [South] Korea, Germany and Italy. And we are very pleased. If we’re talking about the first part [of the film], we had a contract with China for $2.5 mln, it is an unprecedented case."
Over four million people saw Attraction, a film telling a story of an alien invasion, in Russian cinemas, and total box office gross in Russia and CIS countries surpassed 1 bln rubles (about $15 mln). The Russian film was shown in over 80 countries worldwide.
Attraction 2 will include more action scenes, CGI and plot twists, the team working on the sequel stated during the forum.
