MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. The office of the Russian Presidential Ombudsman for Children's Rights has helped reunite 48 children with their Ukrainian relatives living in Ukraine and other countries since the beginning of the special military operation, Russian Children’s Rights Ombudswoman Maria Lvova-Belova has said.

"In total, 48 children from 35 families have been reunited with their relatives living in Ukraine and other countries since the beginning of the special military operation with our direct participation, not counting the children who went to health spas in the Republic of Crimea and the Krasnodar Region, as their parents wanted. There is also the reverse situation when children live in Ukraine but want to live with their relatives in Russia," the press service quoted Lvova-Belova as saying.

According to her, serious support in the reunification process is provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross, Qatar, Pope Francis' envoy Cardinal Matteo Zuppi and the Belarusian State Border Committee.

Lvova-Belova repeatedly emphasized the readiness of the office to assist in the reunification of children with their families in Ukraine. According to her, each case is worked out separately, and a special procedure has been developed for this purpose.
