MOSCOW, April 19, 22:26 /ITAR-TASS/. The decision on Crimea’s reunification with Russia was made solely by President Vladimir Putin himself, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“It was a personal decision of the head of state. He was the only person who could and had to make it and who made it,” Peskov told the TVC television channel on Saturday, April 19.
He recalled Putin’s remarks during the call-in session with the citizens of Russia on April 17 that he had made the decision on Crimea only after he had received the results of the Crimean referendum that bore out his position.
Peskov also said Russia is interested in the resolution of the current political crisis in neighbouring Ukraine more than other countries.
