MOSCOW, October 25 (Itar-Tass) - Two gunmen who carried a powerful explosive device have been killed in Dagestan.
The counter-terrorist operation regime was imposed in the Vinsovkhoz district in Khasavyurt during the operation launched to check information about whereabouts of members of terrorist groups operating in some areas of Dagestan, a National Antiterrorism Committee source told Itar-Tass.
At 07:50 Moscow time, when police attempted to stop a car at a street near a traffic police post, those who were in the car opened fire at the cordon. One soldier of interior ministry troops was wounded. The shooters in the car were neutralized. Two dead bodies of gunmen were found. They have yet to be identified.
Two 50-litre containers with explosives and devices to set off a bomb, arms and ammunition were also found in the car.
The site is cordoned. The operation is continuing.
