Russia, Monaco agree to invigorate bilateral cooperation

MOSCOW, October 4 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and Monaco have agreed to invigorate cooperation in the areas of economics, tourism and environment protection.

“With an aim of creating more efficient formats of relations between Russia and Monaco, it was decided to strengthen the network of Monaco’s honorary consulates in Russia by opening a new such consulate in Rostov-on-Don,” Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prince of Monaco Albert II said in a joint statement passed on Friday after bilateral talks.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prince of Monaco Albert II share the opinion that Prince Albert’s first official visit to Russia is a starting point in their efforts to further promote mutually beneficial relations,” the statement said.

The document stressed the importance of economic and financial ties and cooperation in the areas of environment protection and scientific research, culture and education, tourism and sport exchanges.

The sides agreed that bilateral agreement in each of these spheres would follow.
