Flood situation in Far East complicated but controllable

MOSCOW, September 29 (Itar-Tass) - In Russia’s Amur Oblast on Sunday a total of 3 settlements, 20 houses with 183 dwellers, including 47 children, 34 household plots, one section of local roadway with the total length of 4.5 km and 69 road bridges in three municipalities remain flooded. Separate agricultural lands at an area of ··298 thousand hectares are also flooded.

There are 361 people, including 117 children, staying in temporary accommodation centres.

In the Jewish Autonomous Region in 2 municipalities a total of 3 settlements, 23 houses with 186 dwellers, including 33 children, 152 household plots, 30 sections of local roads with the total length of 104.7 km and 2 road bridges are flooded. There is some flooding of agricultural lands at an area of ··6.8 thousand hectares.

A total of 513 people, including 357 children have been evacuated.

There are 305 people, including 141 children, staying in temporary accommodation centres.

In Khabarovsk Krai, in 7 municipalities a total of 50 settlements, 2 thousand 117 houses with 15 thousand 518 dwellers, including 3,034 children, 2,504 household plots, 2,308 garden plots, 16 sections of local roads with the total length of 27.5 km and 2 road bridges remain flooded. There is some flooding of agricultural lands at an area of ··24.573 thousand hectares.

A total of 7 thousand 326 people, including 1,429 children have been evacuated.

A total of 1,914 people, including 541 children are staying at temporary accommodation centres.

The provision of one-time financial assistance, as well as financial assistance in connection with the partial or total loss of property is continuing in the region.

A grouping of forces and means comprising 38,506 people and 6,347 pieces of equipment, including EMERCOM’s 10,389 people and 1,469 pieces of equipment has been formed in the Far Eastern Federal District to conduct emergency rescue and other urgent operations. The aviation group is comprised of 28 aircraft, including 10 EMERCOM aircraft.
