Russian Universiade-2013 team flag hosted in Universiade village

KAZAN, July 1 (Itar-Tass) - The flag of Russia’s national team at the Universiade-2013 was hosted in the Universiade village on Monday.

Taking part in the ceremony were President of the International University Sports Federation Claude-Louis Gallien, President of the Russian Student Sports Union Oleg Matytsyn, acclaimed mixed martial arts wrestler Fyodor Yemelyanenko, and athletes who will participate in the forthcoming Games. The Russian team flag was the first to be hosted in the Universiade village.

According to the press service of the Universiade-2013 executive directorate, Russia’s team is the biggest one at the Games. It includes 663 athletes. About a hundred of them have already arrived in Kazan.

The Universiade 2013 will be held from July 6 to July 17. As many as 10,500 athletes from 162 countries will compete for 351 sets of medals in 27 sports disciplines.
