MOSCOW, July 1 (Itar-Tass) - President Vladimir Putin said Monday night he does not know anything about the alleged plans of participants in the session of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries to smuggle the fugitive former CIA analyst Edward Snowden out of Russia.
He said that Snowden may stay in Russia on the sole condition of stopping any activities that might be targeted at the U.S.
“If he chooses to stay here then there’s a condition for him, namely, that he should stop his efforts aimed at inflicting damage at our U.S. partners,” Putin said admitting that it might seem really strange to hear such utterances from him.
Along with it, he stressed the absence of any willingness on the part of Russia to exchange anyone for anyone.
“At the very best case, we have exchanged our own agents - on certain conditions, too,” Putin said.
