Russian inspectors to make TOS observation flight over Norway

Norwegian specialists on board will monitor the procedure for the use of observation instrumentation and systems in accordance with the existing accords

MOSCOW, July 1 (Itar-Tass) - A group of Russian inspectors, in implementation of the international Treaty on Open Skies (TOS), will make an observation flight aboard an An-30B plane over Norway's territory within a period from July 1 to 6, an official in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defence told ltar-Tass on Monday.

"The flight will be made from Gardermoen airport along an agreed route with a maximum range of 1,700 km. Norwegian specialists on board will monitor the procedure for the use of observation instrumentation and systems in accordance with the existing accords," the press service official said.

This will be this year's 18th TOS flight to be made by representatives of the Russian Federation over the territories of countries that are parties to the Treaty.
